Oral Cancer Research Center
This project is funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and will meet the most stringent laboratory standards of the NIH and the University.
OCRC is a new large open wet laboratory and a central core facility designed to support state-of-the-art genomics and proteomics research. The core support facilities include alcoves for chemical fume hoods, tissue culture support, and equipment rooms. Office spaces have also been designed to accommodate resident principal investigators, a research conference room, and a break room.
The scope of work includes the demolition of existing labs, the addition of new room partitions, and improvements to ceilings, lighting, mechanical, electrical and plumbing to support the program. Fire/life safety upgrades as required by code, installation of signage, and provision of finishes are also being included in the project design.
The design of the white board display corridor and support spaces are meant to encourage PI and interdisciplinary social interaction.
