Young Research Library
The project required the design and reconfiguration of the administrative offices and a conference center within the first floor of UCLA’s Young Research Library. The layout is intended to be open and informal. Wood, warm carpeting, cork flooring and glass doors were used to create a simple and elegant palette. Young Research Library was designed by the noted firm of Jones & Emmons. The YRL also contains the architectural archives for Richard Neutra, Lloyd Wright AND S. Charles Lee as well as for Jones & Emmons. The change order rate was under 5%, within Budget and Schedule.
